Classic Cars and Coffee - Sunday 31st December 2023

As expected, the New Year's Eve Classic Cars and Coffee was a huge event. I chose to ride my 1954 DKW motorcycle so I could avoid the long queues of cars trying to get in. As I rode along Stirling Highway towards UWA there was a stream of classic cars driving on towards Fremantle - obviously having seen the queues and decided to give it a miss.

Slipping through the traffic

Japanese classics

Moto Guzzi Eldorado. These are magnificent bikes.

Very handsome Velocette

The great grandson of my DKW RT250 - MZ ETZ250 from East Germany.

A very old Brough Superior outfit

Another Moto Guzzi Eldorado. This too is an ex-police bike from Los Angeles.

Monkey bikes

Show winner for the modern dreck award - Rolls Royce piece-of-shit. They really are an eyesore.

DeTomaso GT4

Classic 1980s motoring and extremely rare in this condition - Datsun 120Y

Very unusual - Gwyne 8.

Morris 8

Cadillac Eldorado

And an Oldsmobile in the rear

Quite an unusual Volvo

1953 Cadillac

Japanese sportscar royalty - Datsun 240Z

Holden EJs, EHs and FCs

1966 Renault Alpine A110

Bubblecar row - Isetta, Messerschmitt and Heinkel

Trojan (UK) built Heinkel Kabine

Messerschmitt KR201

This was the most interesting display of the day

About to set off

Budget motoring of the 1930s - Austin 7.

Recreated Messerschmitt Tiger

Morgan Plus 8

Chevrolet Corvette. The pioneer of fibreglas bodywork.

And with that we finished 2023.

Classic Cars and Coffee Sunday 22nd October 2023

Dear car and bike enthusiasts

Welcome to our update on all things Classic Cars and Coffee. Well Spring has definitely sprung and the weather has turned a lot warmer, it bodes well for a fantastic Spring/Summer season for Classic Cars and Coffee and our spin off events. This Sunday is a very special one with the postponed October CC and C taking place, along with our great drive and lunch event "Swan to Swan". Swan to Swan entrants will have a special area reserved (Carpark 4) and depart on a scenic cruise through the hills, eventually arriving en masse to the stunning destination of Oakover Grounds. Here we will all have a lovely lunch and entertained by Ezereve as we chat about all things cars related! Limited spots are available and can be reserved here but hurry as we will cut off entrants on Thursday; https://classiccarsandcoffee.com.au/swan-to-swan/

Classic Cars and Coffee - Sunday 6th August 2023

Dear car and bike enthusiasts...aka tragics! The team at CC and C are very much looking forward to this Sunday's event with a great array of new classics and rare modern cars expected. The weather is looking on point so we expect it to be a big morning. Remember that this Sunday we will be operating our winter hours of 9 - 11am, next month we will go back to our regular 8:30 - 10:30am times. Please see below information on some upcoming events and also information on The Long Run from our charity partners 'Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia'. Also just a reminder that JDM will take place in carpark 9 this Sunday!

After several weekends of rain and drizzle it looks like Sunday 6th August 2023 is going to be clear and sunny. Perfect weather for a car show. Come on down to the University of WA carpark with your vehicle or just come along to enjoy the show. It's free for spectators.

Sunday was a beautiful, sunny but cold morning. Time for a coffee!

A stunning MG A

The trusty old Commer van. You never see these on the road.

Studebaker Lark

Triumph TR2

New and old.

Citroen 2CV

Renault 17

Armstrong Siddley

Renault A330

Russian Ural motorcycle and Czech Velorex

The Velorex is budget motoring at its simplest. It's powered by a twin cylinder Jawa motorcycle engine. https://heinkelscooter.blogspot.com/2016/11/prague-technical-museum.html

Shannons Insurance and the Patron coffee van. https://www.shannons.com.au/

The modern Morgan three wheeler and a rallying Volvo Amazon.

Look at the cantor on the Skoda Octavia's rear wheels. The Skoda used independently sprung half axles.

1965 Skoda Octavia.

Renault 750

1940 Ford Coupe

1958 Ford Customline

1944 Kubelwagen. https://heinkelscooter.blogspot.com/2014/07/volkswagen-at-war.html

Porsche 356 coupe. https://heinkelscooter.blogspot.com/2022/12/1950-porsche-356-pre-a.html

It was time to take the Tatra out for a spin. No reverse parking this time.

The Commer creeps over the speed humps. One of the problems of "slamming"

It's interesting to overhear people talk about the Tatra. "Hmm, it looks just like a Volkswagen." Yeah, if you don't have eyes. https://tatrat600.blogspot.com/2023/02/tatras-self-licking-icecream-cone.html

1959 IWL Berlin scooter. https://dkwautounionproject.blogspot.com/2019/09/east-german-iwl-scooters.html

This little trio is a good example of the variety within the KBG club. https://kbgaustralia.org/

Two eastern block machines

Jim loves the Berlin!

Next Classic Cars and Coffee is Sunday 3rd September 2023.
